Spooky treats!

This week at MESLS was our first week of the last session for 2016 😯!

It was also Halloween on Monday starting off our session on a fun and spooky note 😈👻! We learned how to make a fun Halloween inspired dessert called ghosts in the graveyard. It was yummy but it was even more fun to make. This session we will continue learning how to make American desserts and snack and maybe even some Indian treats, Taiwanese munchies and Thai delicacies! Make sure you read our blog to see what we are making or come study with us to partake in the fun!

Mole! Mole! Ole! The Madness before exam week!

This week at MESLS was lots of fun. We had the opportunity to ride a historic train through Wisconsin as the leaves are changing colors. Then we tried the world's best mac and cheese!

Then, we learned how to make a famous Mexican dish called mole! It was different, but delicious! So far this session we have learned to make Thai curry, Indian naan, rice crispy treats, mug cakes and puppy chow! Hopefully next week we will learn to make something that will make our studying for exams easier :)!

Week 5 of the session has almost finished!

As we wrapped a week of fun, we learned how to make puppy chow a dessert with peanut butter, chocolate and powered sugar. It was a little messy to make, but very fun! We shook it up, listened to some Taylor Swift to get us in the mood and had a little dance party in the parking lot.

MESLS is all about trying new things and the puppy chow was just the start! We learned how to make a type of Indian bread on Thursday and Friday we took a train ride through Wisconsin to see the leaves changing colors. Mac and Cheese was had by all and with our bellies full and our cameras full of pictures, we can officially say MESLS had some serious fun!

Birthdays, Learning and Baking

This has been a very busy week at MESLS! We have celebrated 3 birthdays: 2 students and a future MESLS teacher! We are very excited to help our students celebrate their birthdays, especially when it involves cake :)!

We also had fun taste testing colas and peanut butters to see which was better when we didn't know the brands. It was so much fun that even Poom, the director, taste tested!

We learned how to make cakes in mugs in the microwave :O! We said no oven...no problem!

We always have fun at MESLS, but this week was extra fun!

This week we started to watch Tron: Legacy, which was so suspenseful! But to help cut the suspense we made 3 kinds of rice Krispy treats! Everyone learned how to make them and everyone really enjoyed eating them!
