House on the Rock

This Saturday, April 2, 2016, students will visit the famed House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI to see an architectural work of genius! The house sits on top of a 60 foot (~18 meter) column of rock, and is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect from Richland Center, WI.

The House on the Rock itself is a large house filled with a collection of antiques and odd knick-knacks. Rooms each have a theme, and there are many musical oddities and carnival-like additions all over.

The House itself attracts visitors from all over the United States who want to walk in the Infinity Room, a room that seems to stretch on forever due to the shape. The room itself is actually designed to a point, and extends out over the forest below the House on the Rock.

After we visit the House, we will also check out the Cave of the Mounds nearby. The Cave of the Mounds is a gorgeous limestone cave located in Blue Mounds, WI. It is a fantastic experience to walk through the cave and witness structures that have taken thousands of years to form.

We can't wait to go exploring, and share all of our great pictures and experiences with you!
