Halloween at MESLS!

Thursday, October 31st, ghouls and goblins invaded MESLS!  After lunch, we held a costume contest and pumpkin
carving activity. Students enjoyed roasted pumpkin seeds and of course, a bit of American Halloween candy.

Welcome Party (October/December Session)

Monday, October 28th, during MESLS' Welcome Party, Bo Young was awarded a $100 check for receiving all As last session!  Congratulations and keep up the great work!
Ahmed and Noha were our green ticket winners, both receiving Target gift cards for always speaking English
at MESLS!  Way to set a good example.

A new session begins

Thursday, October 24th was the first day of a brand new session. With placement testing and orientation behind
them, the new MESLS students had a blast going downtown and discovering State Street.

Haunted Forest

Friday, October 11th, MESLS students went to the Schuster's Playtime Farm to experience
Wisconsin autumn at its best. We made our way through the infamous corn maze and were positively
frightened by the ghouls in the Haunted Forest before relaxing by the campfire with
marshmallows and apple cider

Tuesday, October 8th, Abdullah gave a presentation to a room full of MESLS students.  A MESLS student himself, 
Abdullah told the story of how he went from speaking next to no English one year ago to being a role-model 
student today.

Haunted Forest POSTPONED!

We had to cancel our trip to Schuster's Haunted Forest on Friday, October 4th due to storms.

Outstanding English Speakers!

Wednesday, October 2nd, we drew two names from MESLS' green ticket box. (Students who continuously speak
English outside of class receive green tickets). This time, Saleh and Ahmed won gift cards to Target.
