New MESLS Messages on Social Media

The MESLS message is getting revamped! We realize that a lot of communication all around the world happens through social media. So, we at MESLS want to strengthen our presence on social media and have a couple new projects on the way. One example is a series of videos showing the everyday life of students here at MESLS. Hopefully these videos can give people who might want to study here a taste of what it would be like to live and study in Madison.

Here is a sneak peak of these highlight videos.....

Stay tuned for other new and exciting things happening on our social media sites. And please let us know what types of things you like to see. Are you a fan of pictures? Videos? News about upcoming events? We want to make our message fun and engaging for you!

Apple & Pumpkin Picking

Fall means many things in the Midwest. It is a time when the trees begin to change colors, the weather becomes much cooler than in the summer, the skies are often clear and beautifully blue, and many farms open up their land for people to come apple pick and pumpkin pick. We had an opportunity to visit a local farm on Saturday to fill a big with fresh apples and to pick out some pumpkins to carve into Jack-o-Lanterns.

Today, we are enjoying the delicious apples at school, and tomorrow we will have a pumpkin carving contest to see who can make the best Halloween Jack-o-Lantern. We can't wait to see how they turn out!

A whirlwind of activity at MESLS!

We had a busy few weeks at MESLS with international recruiting fairs in Brazil and Colombia, plus a university visit to our school in Madison, WI. October has been increasingly busy as we begin to prepare for the end of the session and we are still working on our grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

During our international students fairs, we had the opportunity to meet many of you in-person, and we are so grateful for the chance to get to know your needs better. After speaking with so many interested students in São Paulo and Bogotá, we may be making a few small changes to our program and session offerings. Thank you so much for speaking with us and letting us know what would be best for you and your education!

Yesterday, we had the chance to hear from our partner university, the University of Wisconsin-Stout, about their bachelors and masters programs. Many of our current students were very interested to learn about the small class sizes offered at Stout, and the many degree programs available to students. We are very appreciative of the time UW-Stout took to meet with our students and present their university!
